Job Description:

Our client is currently recruiting for a locum Commercial & Contracts Lawyer on a fully remote, 12-month maternity cover contract.
 
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate negotiable depending on PQE and candidate expectations, but will be inside IR35.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience working within local government, and have strong experience dealing with complex commercial and procurement matters.
 
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
  • Advising the Council on a broad range of commercial contracts and procurement matters
  • Working closely with the Council’s procurement team to prepare tender documents, and answer any queries that may arise as part of a procurement evaluation
  • Drafting and completion of bespoke and standard forms of contract, including NEC and JCT contracts
  • Negotiating and preparing documentation and advice on major transactions, including regional partnerships
 
Experience required:
  • Experience required in Local Government
  • Qualified as a Solicitor/Barrister/CILEX
 
Working hours:
  • 37 hours per week, part-time options available
  • Monday – Friday
