Job Description:

£66,366 - £85,284 per annum

Enfield Legal Services are seeking to recruit an experienced lawyer into the role of Principal Lawyer (Planning, Property, Regeneration & Contracts) due to the impending retirement of the current postholder. You will report directly to the Director of Law and Governance and will be a member of the departmental management team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join a highly regarded, professional and committed in-house legal team and to lead on some major commercial projects such as Joyce and Snells, Meridian Water, Whitewebbs and the emerging new Local Plan, as well as leading our team of specialist planning, property and contract lawyers.

Local Government experience is preferable but not essential. What we want is someone who has a real expertise in planning and property and general regeneration work and, ideally, with some knowledge and experience of local authority procurement and local authority trading companies. We need someone who can personally handle a caseload of complex legal work and who can also lead and manage a team of other highly skilled individuals. You will need to demonstrate excellent client care skills and will have a good knowledge of local authority law and practice. You will be required to deal with chief officers and elected members and will be required to attend some evening meetings, including Planning Committee.

We work collaboratively and flexibly and welcome applications from all members of the community. We are employers that develop talent, encourage innovation and have a supportive working environment. If you want to be part of our journey, we would love to hear from you. All roles are open to Solicitors, Barristers or Fellows of CILEX.
