Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is a unitary authority highly focused on economic growth.

To support the Council’s ambitions and the various departments we are seeking a commercial lawyer to join its Contracts and Procurement legal team.

The team is responsible for preparing and advising on contracts across the whole range of Council services. This role would work on a range of contracts including working on contracts for the Council's ambitious growth programme and advising on other related areas of law including procurement, TUPE, subsidy control and data protection.

The Council has a number of exciting projects over the coming years and this role will play a key role in helping to deliver them.

We are seeking an enthusiastic lawyer keen to progress with excellent communication skills who can give effective, legally and commercially sound advice which takes account of Council priorities.

You will have good drafting skills and be ability to manage a varied caseload, and experience of contracts and procurement work is desirable but not essential.
