Woking Borough has a number of exciting opportunities within its busy and friendly in-house legal team to provide more legal resilience across the Council’s functions and services.

As a Legal Officer, you will be involved in providing legal advice, drafting documents and notices. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join its team as a Legal Officer to work primarily on Property matters but with the possibility of developing in other areas..

You will provide high quality support and advice to colleagues and officers of the Council as well as provide support to other members of the legal team. We are looking for a positive, flexible and self-motivated individual who contributes to good team spirit in our small but friendly team.

You should be enthusiastic, confident and organised and be able to work on your own initiative able to manage a busy workload to tight deadlines. 

The successful candidate will support the Head of Legal Services and Director of Legal and Democratic Services to provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective legal service to the Council as well as supporting lawyers in handling cases. 

The Council offers in return a generous flexi time scheme with the ability to take two flexi days a month, membership of the local government pension scheme, discounted health and leisure membership, plus many more excellent benefits.
