Our Regeneration Legal Group spearheads the complex negotiation, drafting and delivery of the planning, property and regeneration work that makes this revolution happen. We’re now expanding the team to deliver on the Council’s ambitious strategy: Investing in Success: An Economic Strategy for Manchester.

Can you bring us the legal knowledge, experience, agility and innovation we need to get this done?

We are expanding our Regeneration Legal Group to support Manchester’s strategy  – blending property, planning, and regeneration work to create the vibrant future we all envision.

We are recruiting a range of lawyers to help us to continue to deliver the Council’s ambition and to build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
 
The team advises on matters such as major developments, contracts and procurement exercises, as well as grant funding schemes, intellectual property and health and social care matters, insourcing and outsourcing of services, and includes the drafting and negotiation of detailed and complex documentation. The team also works closely with colleagues across regeneration as part of multi disciplined teams on major projects.

The work done in the team is critical to its clients, often delivered to tight deadlines whilst contributing to the delivery of the clients’ priorities (e.g. the increase of housing supply and reduction of homelessness), to fulfil their statutory obligations (e.g. health and social care duties) and in the significant amounts of procurement activity and contractual arrangements.

About the Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you have experience and knowledge in a number of the following areas:
  • Extensive knowledge of the law relating to the work undertaken in the Commercial Section including significant recent experience in legal practice as a commercial lawyer dealing with complex, high value, high profile related matters and a broad range of complex, high value, high profile, transactions and matters (including regeneration related transactions and matters) involving some or all of the following:
Ø    commercial, contract and projects law
Ø    procurement law
Ø    company, corporate and structures
Ø    funding and investments
Ø    subsidy control
Ø    regeneration/development
