£65,532 - £69,468 per annum plus a market supplement of £6,500 (annually reviewable) plus a £3k Welcome payment

Founded in 2011, the South London Legal Partnership (SLLP) is the in-house legal service for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Boroughs of Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Sutton and Wandsworth.

The partnership has 150-160 staff and a turnover of £12 million. Over 1 million people are represented by the constituent councils. Operating at scale has enabled it to recruit and retain excellent staff and to provide a consistently high standard of service to our five Boroughs

We are looking for an experienced lawyer to work particularly closely with one of our partners, the Royal Borough of Kingston of Thames as they continue to develop their regeneration plans. The successful candidate will relish the opportunity to be play a role on the key project boards and will support the Council’s General Counsel in ensuring strategic support and compliance with the principles of good governance. As well as carrying out some complex transactional work yourself, you will act as intelligent client for the retained external legal advisers and be the conduit for the work carried out by SLLP colleagues.  Ideally you will have a background in dealing with complex commercial property and property development.
