Sellick Partnership are proud to be recruiting for an Education Lawyer to join a welcoming and reputable local authority in the North West on a locum basis for 3 - 6 months, while the council undertake permanent recruitment.

The authority have seen a huge rise in SEN work, so someone with experience in SEN matters that would be able to hit the ground running is desirable. Other responsibilities of the Education Lawyer are including but not limited to:

  • Managing a caseload of complex cases, comprising mainly SEN admission appeals, with minimum supervision
  • Advise on Education law generally, including the preparation of proceedings in relation to Schools and Academies, parents, and pupils. This may include, but is not limited to advice about parental bans, exclusions, discrimination, and education law related matters
  • You must be able to handle a substantial caseload, often working to strict deadlines and on short notice

Our client is seeking an experienced Education Lawyer with previous experience gained in providing high level advice on Education matters. Although prior experience within Local Government would be preferred, it is not essential.

The successful Education Lawyer will ideally be able to undertake this role on a full-time basis, however candidates seeking a part-time working pattern will be considered.
