Job Description:

I'm working with a great council in the East Midlands region. You would be a locum planning lawyer doing 1 day a week in office and planning comittees as they arise. The day to day:  

  • Provide legal advice and support to the council on difficult Planning Law and similar areas at strategic and operational levels.
  • Own caseload, especially the more complex and high profile cases.
  • Run a team delivering Planning and regulatory legal work.
  • Manage the relevant budget – both internal and external legal spend.
  • Lead, establish and manage great relationships with client and external stakeholders.
  • Manage reports and ensure sustainable levels of case supervision.

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Admitted Solicitor, Solicitor/Advocate, Barrister, Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives or equivalent qualification.
  • High level knowledge and experience in the field of Planning Law is required.
  • Ability to manage a team of lawyers who have a variety of expereince across different legal fields. Experience of managing people with a positive approach.
