A Yorkshire-based local authority is seeking an Interim Head of Legal Services to lead its legal function during a key period.
The role will involve providing strategic legal advice to senior officers and members, overseeing governance and high-risk matters, and managing a multidisciplinary legal team.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and manage the council’s legal services function
Provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders and elected members
Ensure effective governance, compliance, and risk management
Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
Senior legal management experience within local government
Strong leadership and governance expertise
