Job Description:

Locum Licensing Lawyer – 3 months + - Predominantly Remote Working – Part Time – Up to £55 per hour Umbrella – East Anglia
 
Position: Locum Licensing Lawyer
Organisation: East Anglia
Duration: 3 months +
Working Pattern: Part Time (2-3 days a week)
Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote Working, Court attendance when required
Hourly Rate: Up to £55 per hour Umbrella
 
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and can demonstrate knowledge of Licensing matters.
 
Duties may include:
  • Undertake all aspects of Licensing proceedings in Magistrates Court and associated appeals
  • To provide Licensing advice to the Licensing Authority
  • Act as Legal Adviser for Local Authority at Committee and Sub-Committee hearings including handling taxis licenses/appeals
  • To draft and issue relevant proceedings in the Magistrates and/or County Court
  • To take a lead on, review and interpret new legislation and advise officers of the impact of those changes on their relevant departments
