We have an exciting opportunity for a planning solicitor to join the Litigation & Regulatory Services Team as part of a mixed team of nine planning and litigation lawyers.  You must be a team player with a pro-active can-do approach, have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively at all levels across the council including with elected members, senior leadership team and other stakeholders.
 
We seek a qualified solicitor/barrister or CILEX with or entitled to a practising certificate who will enjoy a varied caseload to advise on all areas of planning law ranging from household and agricultural development to large commercial or housing developments.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside a large planning team dealing with quality work in planning enforcement, drafting and negotiating section 106 agreements, providing advice to planning committee meetings, advising and preparing cases for court, appeals and public inquiries, instructing counsel and advising on planning policy matters.

Ideally you should have significant post qualification experience together with sound knowledge of planning law.  Applications are invited from individuals with post qualification experience of either commercial, property, civil or local government law who are looking to move into the field of planning law in an exciting and changing landscape.

You must also be organised, enthusiastic and willing to contribute effectively to a team working in a busy office and agile environment based at County Hall, Beverley as part of a permanent contract.
