£53,817 - £68,265 plus Market Supplement

£53,817 - £68,265 - Plus £5,000 allowance per annum

Salary will be Pro-Rated to 18 hours per week

Enfield Legal Services are recruiting a Senior Governance Lawyer and Deputy Monitoring Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for talented and ambitious professional to join a friendly, committed and highly regarded in-house legal team to help deliver quality legal and governance advice on a range of complex issues, as well as making a real contribution to the quality of life and sustainability of the borough. The role is open to Solicitors, Barristers or Fellows of CILEX

The post holder will work directly and closely with the Director of Law and Governance and will apply their specialist knowledge to advise a variety of decision makers, up to the Chief Executive and the Council Leader. This role will require the skills to develop strong working partnerships across the Council, as well as keeping up to date with changing legislation. We are looking for an individual who is a are real team player, who are self-motivated and flexible. You will be used to carrying a heavy caseload with minimum supervision and working to tight timescale. The successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in the governance area. You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to deal with people at all levels. Local authority experience is desirable but not essential, provided you have good experience.

Enfield Legal Services is a friendly and progressive team focussed on delivering our clients’ objectives. We provide training and mentoring for the right candidates and can offer a competitive package. Car parking is available on-site and we are close to two train stations.

This post is part time for 18 hours a week on a 1 year fixed term contract, we can offer flexibility of days and working hours with the successful candidate. This post is classified as a flexible worker and require some office attendance to be agreed based on days/hours. The post holder may need to attend meetings such as committees and Council outside of usual office hours in the capacity as Deputy Monitoring Officer.
