Locum Commercial Solicitor (Rail & Metro) – Remote Working – Competitive Rate

Location: Remote working
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
Duration: 3 months+ (potential for extension)
Working Pattern: Full-time or part-time considered

Venn Group’s specialist legal team is recruiting for a Locum Commercial Solicitor with expertise in Rail and Metro projects to join a well-regarded organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-profile transport infrastructure projects, working on a variety of complex commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on commercial contracts related to rail and metro projects, including procurement, infrastructure development, and service agreements.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supply chain contracts, franchise agreements, and public-private partnership agreements.
  • Ensuring compliance with rail regulatory frameworks, public procurement law, and transport-specific legislation.
  • Providing legal support on joint ventures, funding agreements, and strategic partnerships.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders, external legal teams, and transport authorities to support project delivery.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with expertise in rail and metro law, commercial contracts, and public sector infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of rail regulatory frameworks, procurement law, and contract structuring.
  • Experience working with local authorities, transport bodies, or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload effectively.
