We have an exciting role on offer within our Legal services as a Governance Lawyer.

About Us

The Council’s Legal Services team is committed to providing a quality service to the Council, for the benefit of the people of Middlesbrough.

To support the Council to achieve strategic objectives and obligations through the provision of a first-class legal service, we are looking for a suitably qualified lawyer who has experience of governance matters. If you have experience in this area we would like to hear from you, we will also provide support to enhance skills in and knowledge across a range of areas.

The post will focus on advice and guidance on governance issues to support the Monitoring and Deputy Monitoring Officers which may include advice and guidance on the constitution, schemes of delegation, standards complaints, reports, exemptions and other governance matters in relation to Council Committees and the Executive.
