Are you passionate about data protection, information security, and driving digital transformation? We’re seeking a forward-thinking Information Governance Manager to lead our Information Governance Team. This covers a wide range of critical areas
including information and data management, governance, records management, and security.
As Information Governance Manager, you’ll take a collaborative and strategic approach, working closely with our DPO, internal teams, external partners, and national bodies. You’ll ensure our information governance practices are robust, future-ready, and aligned with best practice—enabling us to protect, manage, share, and use data effectively to support the Council’s priorities.
Using your high level of knowledge, skills and experience, you will lead the development and delivery of the Council’s Information and Data Management Strategy (IDMS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS), ensuring alignment with the Council’s Digital Strategy, wider governance objectives, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
You’ll use your project delivery skills to manage and oversee the implementation and maintenance of key information management technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG),
Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRM) and SharePoint.
With your expert knowledge of information legislation and compliance frameworks, you will provide guidance and oversight relating to regulatory requirements, including requests under FOI, EIR, and Data Protection laws, as well as develop and enforce robust policies and standards for information governance, ensuring the secure handling, storage, usage and disposal of both digital and physical information and records.
Providing leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team, you’ll foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development, whilst maintaining commitment to delivering high quality customer service, with a clear
understanding of the impact of governance issues on service delivery and user experience.
