£58,252 per annum plus market allowance of up to £6,344 per annum (discretionary and subject to review)

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and confident lawyer who specialising in the areas of litigation (civil and criminal) and regulatory law who can demonstrate they have the ability to deliver at pace, whilst also ensuring the Council’s strategic aims and objectives are met.

As a qualified lawyer, solicitor, barrister or legal executive you will have in-depth knowledge and experience of all aspects of Planning law, including involvement in the development of policy and planning control and enforcement matters. You will be able to provide complex legal and procedural advice to board members, elected members, agents and other internal and external stakeholders.

A commercial and pragmatic focus, as well as an awareness of the political and corporate implications of decisions are therefore key to success. Exceptional communication, negotiation, collaboration and problem-solving skills are also required for this role.

You should be a creative thinker that can influence and drive progress and want to play a prominent role in helping the Council deliver its key projects and property targets and aspirations.
