HB Public Law, one of the country’s leading shared local authority legal practices, has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic lawyer to lead our Housing and Civil Litigation Team.
HB Public Law is an innovative and ambitious Lexcel accredited legal practice serving four local authority clients, schools and other public bodies in London and the home counties. We pride ourselves on delivering a high quality service and offer a supportive and friendly working environment with colleagues who are dedicated to public service and making a difference in local communities.
About youThis is an exceptional opportunity for you to manage and shape the Housing and Civil Litigation Team. The successful candidate will take pride in leading and delivering a high quality service both individually, and as part of a team, managing staff at various levels. The team has a varied caseload dealing with housing, civil litigation, debt recovery, and other matters.
The successful candidate will be expected to build a high-performance culture within the team and play an important role in supporting career progression and developing public sector lawyers of the future.
Duties include advising on complex matters, supporting corporate groups and senior officers, and advising elected members at committee, in a proactive and politically sensitive manner.
The successful candidate will also be expected to foster excellent working relationships amongst the team and between clients and lawyers, and be the senior point of contact for client relationships and liaison. There is also an expectation to support the wider development of HB Public Law alongside other Principal Lawyers.
