£45,718 - £48,710 per annum
Mid Devon District Council is seeking to recruit a lawyer to join our small and friendly legal team. Therefore, if you are looking to further develop your existing local government experience, change sector into local government or return to work after a career break, you won’t find a better place to do so. Whilst local government experience is not essential, a passion for delivering an excellent legal service in a fast-paced environment and a desire to help shape and deliver an exemplar local authority legal service is.
If you want to be part of:
- a forward thinking Council with a modern dedicated office space in Tiverton and free on-site parking.
- a legal team which has no billing targets and encourages a work-life balance
This is the job for you!
What We Can Offer You
- Hybrid Working - which allows employees to combine working from Tiverton and at home.
- Flexi time – this allows employees, in agreement with their line manager, flexible start and finish times. Should employees build hours up (i.e. working more than their contracted hours) these can be used at a later date in agreement with their line manager to a maximum of 20 hours per month (pro rata).
- Generous annual leave – This starts at 26 days and rises to 29 days (plus bank holidays) in line with length of service. (Annual leave listed is pro rata for part time employees.)
- The opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
- Death in Service - If you are part of the Pension Scheme in operation at the Council and you die whilst in employment with the Council, your next of kin will be entitled to a lump sum payment that is equivalent to three years pay. There is no minimum service level for this to be applicable.
- Paid Professional Membership - The Council is committed to supporting employees with professional memberships. Therefore any professional membership required for the role you are employed for will be paid by the Council.
