£52,428 - £55,420 per annum including market supplement of £8000

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic solicitor, barrister or legal executive to join our Adult Legal Team. You will support our clients by advising adult social care and community health teams within Torbay Council and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, providing legal advice across a wide area of adult services law, including Community Care, Mental Health, Mental Capacity and all adult social care matters. As a senior practitioner in the team, you will deal with more complex matters within your caseload and advise and provide assistance on higher level strategic/policy issues.
 
You will be an adaptable team player with excellent communication and IT skills, and be able to work to deadlines supporting the team with a varied and busy caseload.
 
We would welcome applications from suitably experienced / qualified candidates.
 
Salary includes a market supplement of £8,000 p/a and pro-rata, and benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, annual leave and flexi time. You’ll also have the opportunity of significant and flexible remote working (hybrid model).

As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Knowledge

Essential:
  • High level of knowledge of the law and procedure within the specialist area. 
  • Knowledge of the law relating to local government. 

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:
  • Admitted and practising solicitor, legal executive (fellow) or barrister with up to 3 years PQE. 
  • Suitably trained as a legal advisor or advocate. 
  • Experience of working in a legal environment.
