Overview

We have an excellent opportunity for a lawyer to join the Property Legal Team. As a Property Lawyer you will specialise in providing advice and assistance to manage the Council's large property portfolio, and the Landlord and Tenant issues that arise.

The work of the property legal team is varied, and you will have the opportunity to be part of large regeneration projects within Buckinghamshire, which have a direct impact on the local community and where you will provide property legal advice to Officers and Members.

About the role

We are seeking qualified legal professionals who enjoy working collaboratively to offer pro-active, innovative and customer-focussed advice to support the delivery of multi-disciplined, high-profile projects.

We are recruiting 1 x property lawyer for a fixed term contract of 2 years.

You will be a qualified lawyer with experience to provide legal advice to the client team which manages the Council's large property portfolio. You will deal with the sale and purchase of properties, commercial and agricultural leases and property management documents, as well as attending meetings with key clients and stakeholders. The Council also plans to deliver regeneration projects within Buckinghamshire. The post holder will provide property legal advice in relation to these projects, working closely with colleagues across the legal department and client department.

Property litigation experience is desirable as you may be requested to advise on contentious property matters.

Any-Desk:

As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

We welcome applications from Solicitors, Barristers and Legal Executives, with relevant experience advising officers and members in property law, built from a career in either the public or private sector. Naturally, you'll be highly motivated and proactive, with a developed knowledge in property law. You will bring experience, knowledge and excellent drafting skills to the role, as well as the ability to provide sound legal advice You will be collaborative and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and will actively participate and support the team.
