£74,446 - £80,177 plus relocation support

Our “One Team, One Council, One Purpose” approach is about working together for a brighter future, a better Derbyshire Dales. To support this, we are seeking a new Director to strengthen our corporate leadership team and influence strategy and decision making. Ideally you will be an experienced Monitoring Officer, or Deputy Monitoring Officer.

As Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across legal, democratic, electoral, communications, customer services, transformation, data protection, and ICT contract. You will ensure our corporate decision making and governance underpins and supports the effective and compliant delivery of Council services across our district. Alongside this, you will have the corporate lead for our transformation programme ensuring best use of our resources and drive through the modernisation of our customer engagement and processes across the Council.

You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of operating strategically and operationally in a complex stakeholder setting. Key is your ability to successfully influence and negotiate in the best interests of the Council providing expert governance, assurance and ideally legal advice and the effective leadership and management of our governance and corporate services. You will have excellent communication skills, able to promote the highest standards of practice and conduct throughout the Council. It is an opportunity to make a real impact.
