Locum Corporate/Company Lawyer – Part Time – Remote Working – Midlands – Up to £70 per hour Umbrella
 
Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Corporate/Company Lawyer to join a well-regarded Local Authority in the Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a bespoke strategic project, reviewing the Authority's companies, assessing their current operations and governance arrangements, and advising on options for their future direction.
 
Role Details:
Position: Locum Corporate/Company Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Part Time – 20 hours per week, remote working
Start Date: Mid-November
Rate: Up to £70 per hour Umbrella
 
Duties may include:

• Undertaking a comprehensive review of the Authority's existing companies and associated corporate arrangements
• Assessing current governance structures, operational arrangements and the overall legal position of each company
• Advising on potential options for the future direction, restructuring or continuation of the Authority's companies
• Reviewing relevant corporate documentation, governance frameworks and contractual arrangements
• Identifying legal, regulatory and governance considerations associated with the available options
• Providing clear recommendations and identifying the practical steps required to support informed decision-making
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide strategic legal advice throughout the project

 
Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent)
• Strong experience in corporate/company law, including corporate governance and company structures
• Previous experience advising Local Authorities or other public sector organisations would be advantageous
• Ability to independently assess complex corporate arrangements and provide clear, commercially focused legal advice
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
