The Regulatory Department is one of the largest specialist regulatory practices in the country and is recognised by clients and peers as a market-leading team. We advise a diverse client base across the healthcare, public, corporate and insurance sectors, delivering expert legal support in complex and high-profile matters.
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting experienced Solicitors, Solicitor Advocates and Barristers to join our specialist Inquests team. The successful candidate will be entrusted with conducting their own advocacy while benefiting from dedicated file management and administrative support, allowing them to focus on delivering outstanding representation for clients.
You will:
- Advise clients and prepare inquest cases for hearings and court proceedings.
- Conduct your own advocacy at inquests and related hearings.
- Prepare written submissions, legal arguments and case strategies.
- Represent police forces, other emergency services, insurers and healthcare clients.
- Manage a caseload of complex inquest matters with appropriate support.
- Deal with post-inquest issues, including Prevention of Future Deaths Reports.
- Attend administrative applications and court hearings as required.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and supervision of junior lawyers within the team.
- Achieve agreed financial, chargeable hour and performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant deadlines, quality standards, KPIs, policies and procedures.
This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role
