Working Pattern: Fully Remote
 
The Role
As a Charities Lawyer Locum, you will provide specialist legal support to a highly regarded team advising charities, not-for-profit organisations, educational institutions and other third-sector clients. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, providing both day-to-day advice and support on strategic projects including governance matters, restructures and collaborations.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Advising charities and not-for-profit organisations on a broad range of charity law matters
  • Providing guidance on constitutional, regulatory and governance issues
  • Advising on charity mergers, restructures and collaborative arrangements
  • Supporting clients with fundraising, trading and commercial agreements
  • Liaising with trustees, senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies, including the Charity Commission
  • Delivering practical, commercial and solution-focused legal advice
 
Skills & Experience Required
 
Essential:
  • Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in charity law
  • Strong knowledge of charity structures and not-for-profit organisations
  • Experience advising on governance, regulatory and constitutional matters
  • Experience handling mergers, restructures, fundraising and commercial agreements
  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an established team
Desirable:
  • 5+ years' PQE within charity law
  • Previous experience advising clients within the education and/or sports sectors
  • Prior locum or interim legal experience
  • Experience supporting complex strategic projects and organisational change
