Job Description:

Local Authority Childcare Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced Childcare Paralegal to join one of our long-standing local authority clients on an ongoing locum basis.

This is a fully remote opportunity to join an experienced and supportive legal team, providing essential paralegal support to lawyers managing a busy caseload of care proceedings.

Responsibilities will include:

Working closely with the local authority's childcare lawyers, you will provide day-to-day support across a varied caseload. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting lawyers with the management and progression of care proceedings.
  • Supporting with pre-proceedings/PLO cases, including preparing and organising case documentation.
  • Reviewing, collating and indexing evidence and court bundles.
  • Preparing and drafting routine legal documents and correspondence.
  • Liaising with social workers, professionals, counsel and other parties involved in cases.
  • Assisting with case preparation for hearings and ensuring court deadlines are met.
  • Maintaining accurate case management records and monitoring key dates.
  • Providing general administrative and paralegal support to the childcare legal team.

Experience of pre-proceedings work would be advantageous.
