Locum Litigation Lawyer
Local Authority | Up to 12-Month Assignment | Mainly Remote Working
Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team is currently supporting a Local Authority with the recruitment of an experienced Locum Litigation Lawyer for an interim assignment of up to 12 months.
The successful candidate will manage a varied litigation caseload, with responsibilities including:
- Housing & Anti-Social Behaviour (40%)
- Managing housing litigation matters, including possession proceedings, injunctions, anti-social behaviour matters and related contentious housing work.
- Criminal Prosecutions (30%)
- Conducting a broad range of criminal prosecution matters on behalf of the Council, including case preparation, advocacy and attendance at Court where required.
- Other Civil Litigation (20%)
- Handling a varied caseload of civil litigation matters and providing legal advice on contentious issues affecting the authority.
- Licensing (10%)
- Advising on licensing matters and supporting the Council in relation to licensing hearings and associated work.
This position offers mainly remote working, with attendance required at Court approximately once per month. The Local Authority is seeking someone who can start within 1-2 weeks and is open to applications from candidates looking to work full-time, although 4 days per week may be considered.
Rate: Up to £65 per hour Umbrella
Duration: Up to 12 months
