Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer – Remote Working – £60 Umbrella – South West

Venn Group’s specialist Public Sector Legal team is working with a South West Local Authority who are seeking to appoint a talented Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer to join their team for an initial term of 6 months, subject to likely extension thereafter.

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Lawyer (Solicitors, Barristers and highly experienced CILEX professionals) with recent local government experience.

Duties and responsibilities may include:
 

• Handling a busy and varied caseload of general civil litigation matters including general civil claims, ASB possessions, rent arrears, injunctions, access for electrical inspections, warrant applications, and closure orders.
• Reviewing case files, evaluating evidence, analysing witness statements, and drafting court applications, orders and other associated documentation
• Attending court and tribunal proceedings, conducting advocacy including contested hearings alongside instructing and briefing counsel where required
• Liaising with external agencies and partners as required

An attractive hourly rate of up to £60 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependent on experience. The successful candidate will be expected to attend court/Council offices for meetings as and when required, with remote working available the remainder of the time.
