Job Description:

Locum Civil and Criminal Litigation Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join our friendly and supportive Local Authority inhouse Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse and interesting caseload while playing a key role in developing the next generation of legal talent.

You will manage a broad caseload covering both civil and criminal litigation, including housing litigation, providing high-quality legal advice.

The role offers genuine variety and may include:

  • Civil litigation matters
  • Criminal prosecutions and regulatory enforcement
  • Housing litigation, including possession proceedings, injunctions and related matters
  • Management of external counsel
  • Advising officers and members on litigation risks and strategy

In addition to managing your own caseload, you will mentor and support a junior member of the team, helping them to develop their technical knowledge and confidence.

We are seeking a qualified Solicitor, Barrister of Cilex qualified lawyer with relevant litigation rights.

This is a hybrid working role with some weekly office attendance required.
