Job Description:

The Intelligence Researcher role supports the firm’s clients and legal teams by gathering, evaluating and disseminating intelligence research and reports from public and proprietary sources to inform case strategies, due diligence investigations, litigation and advisory work. This role plays a key part in managing reputational, legal and regulatory risks and protecting client interests by delivering high-quality actionable intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering and closed source research through access to specific systems to uncover information on individuals, entities, assets and associated information.
  • Produce clear concise reports that reflect the evidence and intelligence discovered with recommendations for action.
  • Assist in the examination of insurance claims to identify red flag and indicators of potential fraud.
  • Undertake marketing and shadowing sessions with clients.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to determine and clarify terms of reference for pieces of research, manage expectations and disseminate results of research findings.
  • Ensure that intelligence gathering complies with legal, regulatory and ethical standards, including data protection legislation.
  • Produce witness statements to evidence findings for litigation purposes.
  • Proactively feed observations and emerging issues into the intelligence cycle, identifying opportunities to develop new operations or KYO projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of intelligence cycle, intelligence processes and technical research techniques as part of continual professional development.

Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We also require you to have/be;

Essential Technical Skills/Experience

  • IT literate with good knowledge of Word and Excel, databases, open-source search tools.
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and confident verbal communication.
  •  Investigative mindset; demonstrating an enquiring mind and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven problem solving and research skills.
  • Able to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload effectively under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Proactive with a tenacious approach to identifying issues and solving problems.
  • Quality and customer service oriented with a concern for accuracy and an eye for detail.
  • Team oriented, sharing knowledge and working with colleagues across the Intelligence team.
  • Able to progress tasks using own initiative.
