Locum Childcare Solicitor – 3 months + – Full/Part Time – Predominantly Remote Working – Up to £60 per hour Umbrella – Midlands

Position: Locum Childcare Solicitor
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full or Part Time hours can be considered
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working with occasional court attendance required (Remote working may be considered)
Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
The ideal candidate will have at experience in handling Childcare matters in Local Authority.

Duties may include:

• Conduct own caseload of proceedings which included s.31 to include sexual abuse and non-accidental injuries,  PLO, LPM, DOLS with knowledge of inherent jurisdiction/High Court and COP processes, secure accommodation and discharge of care
• Undertake own advocacy including EPO, ICO, directions, case management, IRH/EFH and final hearings, and DOLS
• Provide accurate and accessible advice, both orally and in writing, in relation to s.31 and pre-proceedings which allows the client to analyse their available options and make reasoned decisions about case progression
• Draft compliant thresholds, C2 applications, consent orders, expert letters of instruction, briefs to counsel and Court case management documents
• Research and understand complex new issues and correctly apply the information to the current facts so as to provide practical and timely advice
