Job Description:

Interim Principal Lawyer/Advocate for Criminal Litigation and Licensing - 3–6 Months - Midlands - £70-75 per hour
 
Venn Group is working in partnership with a highly regarded Local Authority in the Midlands to recruit an Interim Principal Lawyer/Advocate for Criminal Litigation and Licensing.
 
This will be an assignment for 3–6 month with the likelihood of further extensions beyond this initial period. This role can be done remotely, but the successful candidate will be required to attend Court and licensing committee.
 
This role will be ideally suited to an experienced Solicitor or Barrister with a strong background in Local Government Criminal Litigation & Licensing. You will also oversee a small team of Lawyers.
 
You will be responsible for managing a caseload of criminal litigation, licensing enforcement, and representing the council in court and at licensing committee hearings.
This will include advising on statutory legislation (such as the Licensing Act 2003 and Local Government Act), preparing committee reports, and delivering actionable policy/legal guidance
