Senior Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer (remote working)- Midlands - £65ph - 3 to 6 months
                       
An opportunity has arisen for a talented Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join a successful Local Authority Legal team working on a remote working arrangement.
 
This will be an assignment for 3–6 month with the likelihood of further extensions beyond this initial period.
 
Duties will include:
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial and public sector contracts, including high-value agreements subject to public procurement legislation.
  • Advising on and preparing a variety of contractual arrangements, including Funding Agreements, Service Contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Collaboration Agreements, Leases, Framework Agreements, Call-Off Contracts, Consultancy Agreements, JCT Contracts, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Inter-Authority Agreements.
  • Providing strategic legal advice throughout the procurement lifecycle, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal governance requirements. This includes advising on procurement routes, tender processes, financial thresholds, evaluation and clarification stages, the Procurement Act, the Provider Selection Regime, and the Council's Contract Procedure Rules.
  • Supporting clients with contract management matters, including extensions, variations, modifications, termination provisions, performance issues and contractual disputes.
  • Reviewing and advising on procurement-related reports, executive decision reports and waiver requests, ensuring legal compliance and robust decision-making.
