Democratic Services Officer
Fully Remote
£30 - £35ph umbrella (DOE)
Initial 3-6 Month Contract (Potential to Extend)

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for a Democratic Services Officer to join a highly regarded public sector organisation based in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to support the effective delivery of democratic services within a well-established team.

The role is offered on a fully remote basis for an initial 3-6 month period, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise, coordinate, and attend committee and council meetings, ensuring they are convened and serviced in accordance with statutory and constitutional requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, reports, briefing notes, and other associated documentation.
  • Provide administrative and procedural support to elected members and senior officers.
  • Undertake research and gather information to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained and governance procedures are followed.

About You:

  • Previous experience working within Democratic Services is highly desirable.
  • Candidates with strong administrative experience, particularly in arranging meetings, agenda preparation, and minute-taking, are also encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
