We are looking to recruit a full-time legal officer for a 12-month fixed term to work in the General Property team within the Council’s legal department.

As well as being able to offer outstanding work, Legal Services can offer exceptional support and resources.  Legal Services also holds Lexcel accreditation with the Law Society.

About you
As a Principal Legal Officer, you will bring to the role:
  • the ability to manage a substantial personal caseload of complex legal professional work (non contentious), primarily commercial property, landlord and tenant, general property and local government law legal work;
  • good interpersonal skills;
  • a “can do” attitude with regard to all aspects of the role, including advising and supporting colleagues, clients and members;
  • the ability to work as part of a team and be flexible, enthusiastic and committed; and
  • the ability to grasp and assimilate new information quickly.
About the role
You will be required to work as part of a team dealing primarily with Right to Buy disposals and assist with other property transactions and provide legal advice on general property matters as required, particularly relating to Right to Buy matters.
