Job Description:

Childcare Locum Lawyer

Location: Fully Remote
Hours: 30 hours per week over 4 days
Contract: Locum
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Childcare Locum Lawyer to join a supportive and collaborative legal team on a fully remote basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with previous local government childcare law experience to manage a varied caseload of public law childcare matters.

The Role

Working as part of a small and friendly team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of:

  • Care proceedings
  • Pre-proceedings matters
  • Public law childcare cases
  • Case preparation and progression from instruction through to conclusion
  • Providing legal advice and support to social workers and relevant stakeholders

This is a case management-focused position, with no advocacy required.

Requirements

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • Previous experience working within a local authority legal team
  • Strong knowledge of public law childcare matters
  • Experience managing care proceedings and pre-proceedings cases independently
  • Excellent organisational and case management skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a remote environment and as part of a small team
