Salary: £67,000 to £75,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week, Monday – Friday)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Solicitor to join our Community Care team at Invicta Law. This is a senior role offering the chance to work on complex, high-profile and politically sensitive matters, whilst also playing a key part in leading and developing a team.
You will work closely with the Head of Group, advising a range of local authority clients and deputising where required. Alongside managing your own caseload, you will supervise colleagues, contribute to team performance, and support the ongoing growth and development of the service.
This role is ideally suited to a confident and commercially aware legal professional who enjoys balancing technical legal work with leadership and client relationship management.

What you’ll be doing
- Advising clients on a wide range of community care matters, including complex and sensitive cases
- Managing and progressing your own caseload to a high professional standard
- Supervising and supporting junior colleagues, including trainees and fee earners
- Deputising for the Head of Group and supporting wider team management activities
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a key contact
- Identifying business development opportunities to enhance the team’s profile
- Ensuring compliance with professional standards, quality assurance processes and internal policies
- Supporting the allocation of work and contributing to team leadership activity
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate and strong experience within community care law.
- Significant experience within adult social welfare, including Court of Protection work
- Strong leadership or supervisory experience within a legal environment
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality client service
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication, drafting and stakeholder management skills
- A commercial mindset with an interest in business development
- Experience of working with a case management/time recording system and meeting chargeable hours/financial targets
- Experience within asylum or leaving care work would be beneficial but is not essential.
