Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – East Midlands – Part Time – Remote Working – £60 per hour Umbrella Venn Group’s specialist Public Sector Legal team is currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join Harborough District Council on an interim basis, offering an excellent opportunity to support a busy and collaborative legal team.
Role Details:Position: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Part Time (2–3 days per week), remote working
Duration: Initial contract with the possibility for extension
Rate: £60 per hour Umbrella
Key Responsibilities:- Managing a full caseload of Commercial Contracts matters on behalf of the Local Authority
- Advising on Procurement matters and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements and contracts
- Providing legal support on potential waste contracts and associated matters
- Advising officers and stakeholders on complex commercial and contractual issues
- Supporting the wider legal team with general commercial law matters as required
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with experience in Commercial Contracts and Procurement Law
Previous experience working within Local Government or the Public Sector is highly desirable
Strong drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload independently
