The role:

We are looking for up to 5 passionate and driven individuals to join our in-house legal team as a Trainee Solicitor on a 2 year fixed term contract, commencing September 2026. This is an opportunity to work in an exciting and forward-thinking local authority as part of a dynamic and multi-disciplinary legal department.

In the role of Trainee Solicitor, you will support our Heads of Law, Senior Lawyers, and Lawyers in advising and assisting the client departments throughout Liverpool City Council and its partner organisations. You will also develop and maintain experience and expertise of the law and local government law and practice.

This role is fixed term for 2 years to enable Legal Services to contribute to the corporate social responsibility aims and ambitions, whilst also providing crucial legal support across the Service.
