Housing Litigation Lawyer
 
Salary: £40-£50 per hour – Negotiable DOE
Contract Length: 3-6-month initial contract
Northeast Local Authority
Hybrid Working
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a full caseload of housing disrepair matters on behalf of the local authority.
  • Handle claims from pre-action stage through to litigation and resolution.
  • Advise client departments (housing, repairs, and asset management teams) on legal risk and strategy.
  • Support wider housing litigation matters where required (e.g. possession, injunctions).
 
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer in England & Wales.
  • Essential: Proven experience handling housing disrepair claims.
  • Strong knowledge of landlord & tenant law and housing legislation.
  • Experience working within a local authority or social housing environment (highly desirable).
