Locum Planning & Highways Lawyer – Local Authority – West Midlands – £60+ per hour

I am currently looking for a Locum Planning & Highways Lawyer to join a well-regarded Local Authority in the West Midlands on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive legal team and handle a varied caseload of planning and highways matters, with flexible working arrangements.

Role Details:

• Location: West Midlands
• Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote, with attendance required on-site approximately once per month for committee meetings
• Rate: £60+ per hour (Umbrella)
• Start Date: Within the next 4 weeks
• Duration: Initial 6 months, with strong likelihood of extension

Key Responsibilities:

• Advising on a broad range of planning and highways matters
• Supporting and attending planning committees (monthly attendance required)
• Drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements and highways agreements

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx
• Proven experience within local government planning and highways law
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Experience attending and advising at committee level
