Job Description:

Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer – Part-Time – Remote Working – Initial 3+ Months– Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella)
 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to support a Local Authority on an interim basis, offering an excellent opportunity to support a friendly and reputable local government legal team.   
 
Role Details:
Role: Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Part-time, 22 hours/3 days per week, remote working
Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
Start: ASAP Start
 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements including construction, service consultancy, and IT contracts
  • Advise and draft agreements relating to grant and loan agreements, service level and nomination agreements
  • Advise on procurement legislation, procedures and documents, including procurement regulations and frameworks
  • Assist with major procurements, town centre redevelopment and other regeneration projects
  • Advise formal Council meetings and Councillors/Officer groups as necessary
 
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with proven experience in Commercial Contracts and Procurement Law
  • Experience working within Local Government or the public sector is highly desirable
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
  • Ability to manage workload independently and provide pragmatic, solution-focused advice
