If you are a qualified legal professional looking to make a meaningful impact in local government, we have an opportunities for self-starting Lawyers to join our committed and forward-thinking Legal Services team. This role offers the opportunity to work on wide-ranging, complex and high-value matters that shape our community and support our strategic ambitions.
 
The Litigation/Advisory Lawyer role will manage a wide-ranging caseload focused on contracts, procurement, corporate law, and debt recovery, providing support and strategic advice to the full scope of Council services. This includes enforcement actions, statutory demands, and company secretarial duties for our wholly owned companies. You will also support wider governance and regulatory functions, contributing to the Council’s commercial and legal resilience. This role offers a wide variety, but you do not need to be an expert in all fields to apply. We will offer training and development opportunities to ensure you develop the skills needed to deliver across these portfolios.
 
For this role you will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with sufficient experience, capability and motivation to manage an independent caseload with support. We are looking for professionals who are self-reliant, collaborative, and organised to deliver high-quality legal services in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
