Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – Full Time – Up to £60 per hour umbrella – Fully Remote Working
 
Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Property Lawyer to join an East Midlands Local Authority on an initial assignment. This role offers remote working following an on-site induction on the first day and provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Property Lawyer to support a busy legal team.
 
The Role:
 

• Position: Locum Commercial Property Lawyer
• Location: East Midlands Council
• Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility of extension
• Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
• Working Pattern: Ideally Full Time, Fully Remote
• Start: Likely December

 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Handling deeds of surrender
• Complex lease work
• Managing sales of school sites and general disposals
• Drafting and negotiating leases and licences to assign
• Supporting regeneration projects and development agreements
• Providing general commercial property advice within a local government setting including Landlord and Tenant work and s.25 notices
• No management responsibilities
• Telecoms experience is desirable but not essential

 
 
Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent commercial property experience, ideally within the public sector or a local authority
• Strong understanding of property law, regeneration matters, and local government processes
• Excellent drafting, transactional, and communication skills
