Job Description:

We're currently working with a leading Legal 500 firm based in Oxford that's seeking an exceptional Family Partner. This is a standout opportunity for a senior family law specialist looking to take their career to the next level within a firm known for its excellence, innovation, and supportive culture. This role would involve building up a practice, so it would be a fantastic opportunity for those who want to make something their own.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage a caseload of complex and high-value family law matters, including financial remedy proceedings, private children law, and pre-/post-nuptial agreements.
  • Supervise and mentor junior solicitors and associates, supporting their development and ensuring high standards of client care and legal work.
  • Drive business development, building and nurturing client relationships, networks, and referral sources to grow the family department.
  • Play a strategic role in the direction and development of the team and wider department, including contributing to budgeting, recruitment, and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments such as Private Client, Property, and Corporate on cross-disciplinary matters affecting HNW clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law developments and ensure compliance with SRA and firm-wide regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, seminars, and networking forums, reinforcing its reputation as a market leader in family law.

The successful candidate:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 8 + years PQE in family law.
  • Strong background in a wide range of family matters, including divorce, financial settlements, and children issues.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in supervising, mentoring, or developing junior lawyers and team members.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive attitude toward business development and networking.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client and professional relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A commitment to maintaining high professional standards and staying up to date with legal developments.

In exchange, the firm is willing to offer a competitive salary and generous benefits package.
