Locum Senior Planning & Highways Solicitor

Local Authority – South East

Hybrid Working – 1–2 Days Onsite Per Month

Full-Time (Part-Time or Condensed Hours Considered)

Initial 3–6 Month Contract

£50–55 per hour (Umbrella)

 

Panoramic Associates is currently working with a South East-based Local Authority to recruit an experienced Locum Senior Planning & Highways Solicitor. This is an initial 6-month assignment with the potential for extension. You’ll be joining a supportive and well-established legal team, contributing to a varied and rewarding caseload in planning and highways law.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of planning law matters, including drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements

  • Provide legal advice on a broad range of planning and development control issues

  • Advise on highways law, including rights of way and road traffic matters

  • Handle planning enforcement matters, including the drafting and service of enforcement notices

  • Attend and advise at planning committee meetings on a rota basis

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX with a current practising certificate (England & Wales)

  • 5–10 years’ PQE, with demonstrable experience advising Local Authorities

  • Strong working knowledge of planning law and associated legislation

  • Previous experience advising at planning committees is preferred – however, training can be provided for the right candidate

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning solicitor to support a progressive local authority with a flexible hybrid arrangement.
