Lawyer (Anti-Social Behaviour)
Southwark (Local Authority role)
Initial 3-6 month contract
Rate: Umbrella, negotiable - Indicate rate sought
36 hours per week
Must also be able to work in the office full time (5 days a week) during induction period of 2-3 weeks and thereafter at least 3 full days each week
Required: in depth knowledge and experience of public sector housing law and litigation. In particular significant experience of council housing management law under the Housing Act 1985 and other relevant legislation, procedure and policy, council house possession work; unauthorised occupancy, succession, possession on grounds other than rent arrears; homelessness litigation and law and housing allocations under the Housing Act 1996, significant experience of litigation and law relating to local authority tenancies under the Housing Act 1985.
Experience of working in a local authority.
Must be able to conduct case work under minimal supervision.
Must IT literate, skilled at legal research, success at time recording legal work to target, able to fully utilise electronic legal case management systems and provide clear and accurate written and oral legal advice and accurately assess legal risk.
