£51,282 - £56,184 per annum

The Procurement Team are based in the Strategic Headquarters in Eastleigh and work a hybrid arrangement based on business need, with a minimum expectation to be on-site at least one day a week. Flexible working request will be considered.

Are you seeking a new and exciting challenge where you can play a crucial tole in setting up and managing contracts as a Legal Advisor to the Constabulary's Procurement Team?

If you have a solid understanding of contract law, you might be the ideal candidate we are looking for.

In this role you will be responsible for drafting terms and conditions for our procurement contracts and collaborating with various departments within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary to ensure legal requirements for both new and existing contracts are met.

You will handle legal negotiations with suppliers, including resolving disputes if they arise, to ensure the smooth delivery of goods and services. Additionally, you will provide advice on and ensure compliance with relevant procurement legislation and our internal rules.

Whether you hold a law degree or have extensive experience as a solicitor this role could be perfect for you, and we will support further training for the successful applicant.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 6 ie holding a law degree and/ or, a practicing solicitor or barrister with knowledge of contract law

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of public sector contract law
  • Have experience of providing advice to senior officers and staff as required on all aspects of contract law.
  • Have experience of drafting contractual terms and conditions.
  • Be commercially minded.
