The role is office based in Huyton two or three days per week, usually on a Monday or Tuesday. The candidate must have experience of working with legal data bases and the family court. Exceptionally attendance at court may be required although this is only likely if it is a requirement of a compliance hearing. The role is 36 hours a week with a flexi time approach to the hours worked.
This role is to assist fee earners in progressing public law proceedings.
The role requires being a case holder who is able to work independently to ensure the compliance with court orders and smooth running of court proceedings in the support of solicitors.
The tasks involve bundling, seeking compliance with outside agencies with court directions and a strong understanding GDPR /redaction of documents. The candidate is expected to have experience as a legal assistant or solicitor in case holding public law proceedings and hold a legal qualification.
The candidate is required to hold a DBS or be able to very quickly provide a DBS once appointed. The work demand arises largely due to an increase in caseloads. Recruitment for full time posts has concluded but candidates have expressed the need to serve 2 months notice and the contractual offer will take a number of weeks due to needing a DBS.
