Founded in 2011, the South London Legal Partnership (SLLP) is the in-house legal service for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Boroughs of Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Sutton and Wandsworth.

The partnership has 150-160 staff and a turnover of £14 million. Over 1 million people are represented by the constituent councils. Operating at scale has enabled it to recruit and retain excellent staff and to provide a consistently high standard of service to our five Boroughs
We are looking for a Senior lawyer to cover maternity leave with a proven track record in dealing with a wide range of litigation matters, including (non-residential) property litigation, commercial and contract disputes, debt recovery, public law orientated disputes, discrimination and equality claims, injunction applications and judicial review claims. You will be part of a friendly and collegiate in-house litigation team. This role will require the ability to provide a range of legal support to help ensure the successful delivery of the initiatives across all five Boroughs. A thorough knowledge of civil procedure and practice is essential.
Reporting into the Principal Lawyer and Assistant Head of Law for this area, the successful candidate will have excellent communication, drafting skills and the ability to provide legal advice to a variety of audiences, including senior officers and Members.
