Democratic Services Officer

Rate: £25 - 35 per hour umbrella (Locum / Interim)

Location: Manchester

Working: Hybrid

About the Democratic Services Officer role:

Our client, aPublic Sector Organisation based in Manchester, is seeking a Democratic Services Officer on an interim basis for an anticipated minimum period of 6 months with the possibility of extension thereafter.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with prior experience within democratic or committee services.

The successful Democratic Services Officer will be able to work full time and on a remote basis besides attendance at evening meetings and offices twice per week.

Responsibilities of the Democratic Services Officer role:

  • Undertaking agenda planning, convening meetings, issuing agendas and recording proceedings.
  • Ensuring timetables are met and co-ordination between committees and groups enhances the democratic process of the council.
  • To act as a member of the Democratic Services Team to promote effective democratic functions within the council
  • Ensuring that scrutiny functions are upheld within the decision-making process
